From three generations already, my family works in agriculture with a special attention to the grapes and wine sector as well as the oil one. The main part of the farm is of about 8 hectares with a house in the middle of it and a shed for tools which once was used for milk cows. During the 70's the latter was used by women who tied tobacco's leaves forming long plaits that were dried up later. Finally, in these last years, it has been used as tools shed.

My grandfather created this farm named "DAMA" in the 30's but in the beginning they cultivated only vegetables, cereals and tobacco helped by the tenant farmers who lived in the farm. The first class land and the strategic location, at about 500 metres from the town of Narḍ, has got so that the farm kept its value as a land mark for all the farmers who, at times, came and peeped at the innovation that my grandfather Antonio first, then my father Francesco Salvatore and finally me brought little by little to agriculture and to our farm.

The farm is now under reorganization, is total surface is around 15 hectares divided in vineyards, olive groves and sown grounds. As for the vineyards they are being remade and they will be completed probably in the winter 2001. At the moment there are 4 hectares of vineyards under production which are cultivated with the "tendone" technique (like a pergola but lower and wider).The production reaches around 600 hundred kilograms of grapes of "Negroamaro", "Sangioves", "Trebbiano" and "White Malvasia" qualities.

The olive groves are extended for 6,5 hectares more or less, they were planted by myself in 1995 and are 1970 of the local variety "Cellina di Narḍ", they are good for oil production and have a small stone fruit and a middle-high yield in oil. Both the vineyards and the olive groves are watered, with organic fertilizing on the ground in winter and on the leaves (organic as well) during spring and summer.

Sown grounds cover the remaining land and at the moment we have durum wheat cultivation which is almost ready for reaping.

The whole agricultural surface has been biologically treated for 5 years already according to Reg. C.E.E. 2078/92 and is being certificated by the controlling body "Bioagricoop".
